日本植物バイオテクノロジー学会とJST OPERA食と先端技術共創コンソーシアム共催の国際シンポジウム“Global trends of applications and regulations of plant genome editing”を開催しました。Followed by English version.

東北大学会場とオンラインでハイブリッド開催され、オンライン124名、会場72名、計196名の参加がありました。本シンポジウムでは、緩和傾向にあるゲノム編集作物に規制や実用化の加速に関する世界全体の動向や、米国、EU、カナダ、フィリピン、インドネシア、日本の取り組みについて、世界各国・地域の関係者から発表があり、日本や世界が進むべき方向について議論が行われました。

The international symposium “Global trends of applications and regulations of plant genome editing” was held jointly by the Japanese Society for Plant Biotechnology and the JST OPERA Food Cutting-edge Technology Joint Development Consortium. The symposium was held both at Tohoku University and online, with a total of 196 participants, 124 online and 72 at the venue.

At the symposium, presentations were given by stakeholders from around the world on global trends regarding the acceleration of regulations and practical application of genome-edited crops, which are currently being relaxed, as well as efforts in the United States, the EU, Canada, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan, and discussions were held on the direction Japan and the world should take.
